Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) divides the B.Tech program into 8 semesters over four years. Each semester has a distinct set of subjects, and students are examined at the end of each semester in the End Semester exam. AKTUPro organizes all resources by semester so you can quickly jump to exactly where you are in your academic journey.
Semester 1 & 2:The first year covers common foundational subjects shared across all branches — Mathematics-I & II, Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, and Communication Skills. Resources for KAS101, KAS103, KAS201, KAS203 are all available.
Semester 3 & 4:Year two introduces branch-specific subjects. CSE/IT students study Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming, and Digital Electronics. ECE students encounter Analog Circuits and Signals & Systems. Mathematics-III is common across all branches.
Semester 5 & 6:Mid-program semesters with advanced branch-specific subjects. CSE students encounter Operating Systems, Computer Networks, DBMS, and Software Engineering. This is typically when students begin project work and internships.
Semester 7 & 8:The final year focuses on elective specializations, major project work, and professional practice subjects. Resources available include elective notes, project report formats, and viva preparation guides.
